Wendy Dubit is the founder and president of Vergant, Inc. -- a brand building, business development, marketing and communications consultancy that creates and conducts profitable and pro-social programs for companies and causes.

Wendy is an experienced entrepreneur and executive whose numerous publishing, entertainment, new media and non-profit initiatives -- built under the Vergant brand and for such entities as America Online, Bertelsmann Music Group, New Line Cinema, Omnimedia, Pantone, Primedia, Unilever, The Council on Economic Priorities, the countries of Israel and Greece, the City of New York, the New York City Department of Education and U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command -- all carry common threads: The creation and promotion of highly visible, meaningful and profitable programs and partnerships that can be leveraged across an array of industries and media.

For America Online, Wendy served as a consultant to the AOL Greenhouse, created the OutHouse Productions content studio, executive produced the hit show Urban Legends, produced some of the service’s most popular chat rooms and online auditorium events, was director of business development for The Hub (a joint venture of America Online and New Line Cinema), and consulted to corporate communications on cause-related content and programs. As public relations director for Zoom Express/BMG Kidz, she helped launch the Jim Henson Records label, the music and video careers of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and the "Where in The World is Carmen Sandiego" audio line. She also served as the founding editor of Wine Enthusiast Magazine and as the editor-in-chief of Friends of Wine / Les Amis du Vin, for which she initiated a series of magazine supplements and events for foreign governments.

Under the Vergant banner, Wendy has created and operated a number of entities that include: Lucky Breaks: Casting Life in a New Light; ICEinfo: In Case of Emergency be Prepared, not Scared; WonderWorks Productions -- home of UnderWoman, MISERY LOVES COMPANY and more; CD-MOM: The Family Place in Cyberspace; The Education Station, Give as You Live, Dining to Make a Difference; The Senses Bureau: Engaging in Every Sense and The Renewables: Thinkable is Doable!

Non-profits that she has founded include FarmHands-CityHands: Linking Farm and City for the Benefit of Both; HEAVEN: Helping Educate, Activate, Volunteer & Empower Via the Net; and The Producers’ Project: A New Lens on Learning, which helps K-12 students and teachers make and share academically aligned music, film and television.

In addition to the companies and causes she has founded and consulted to, Wendy has taught at the K-12 and college levels. Her education projects have won numerous contracts from the New York City Department of Education and have been honored by ComputerWorld-Smithsonian for their visionary use of technology in education.

Additionally, Wendy has served as a board member of UJA Federation's Technology and New Media Division and the American Institute of Wine and Food, has hosted numerous radio shows and NetCasts, and speaks often on a number of business and philanthropy issues, including finding meaning in work and life. Her articles have appeared in such publications as Business Traveler, Entrepreneur, Martha Stewart Living and Converge.
